Failure to return to jail leads to two-year additional sentence

A Dyersburg man who failed to return to jail after leaving a drug rehabilitation program was sentenced Tuesday in Dyer County Circuit Court to serve two additional years in prison. Eric Lee Cannon, 22, whose last known address was an apartment on Meeks Street, pleaded guilty to a charge of felony failure to appear and was sentenced to serve two years in prison. Cousins indicted on federal drug charges

The December 2003 indictment of a Dyersburg man with an extensive criminal history was unsealed on Tuesday by federal prosecutors. Ralph E. Weddle, 26, of the 100 block of Pease Street in Dyersburg, was charged with two counts of possession of cocaine and one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine. The two-count indictment carries a penalty of at least 10 years in federal prison; the single count carries a penalty of at least five years...
