A Dyersburg public works employee who admitted to sleeping while on the job was terminated Monday night following an appeals hearing before the entire city board. According to an incident report revealed at the meeting, David Essary, who first came to work for the city in 1999, missed one hour and 51 minutes of work on April 4, because he "fell asleep in dump truck #676 on his lunch break."
