Big Red to make big impression at the Dyer County Fair

Big Red isn't your ordinary steer. Joe Young, his owner, described him as a "freak of nature." Not a weird, scary kind of freak. He's just large - about three times larger than a prime steer in any fair's livestock contest. Big Red stands 6 feet, 5 inches tall. He measures 11 feet long from his nose to his rear-end. If you tried to tie a belt around his chest, the belt would have to be at least 11 feet long. And, he weighs a little more than 3,000 pounds...

Hurricane Charley is expected to cost the American Red Cross at least $50 million, making it the fifth most expensive disaster in Red Cross history. As a result, the Red Cross has launched a nationwide fund-raising campaign. Juvenile arrested in shooting incident
