Lip Sync for Literacy raises over $1,200 for DCLP

Car flips over following fierce collision

Drivers couldn't help but rubberneck at the intersection of Lake Road and the Highway 51 Bypass on Tuesday, when they saw a green Buick Century flipped onto its top. While an official accident report was not available from the Dyersburg Police Department at the time of this writing, eyewitnesses on the scene said the car was driven by an elderly man who miraculously crawled away from the mishap with what appeared to be minor injuries. ...

Aldermen approve spec building, amend budget

The Dyersburg board of mayor and aldermen on Tuesday night gave the go-ahead to a joint city-county project that will permit the construction of a $1.7 million spec commercial building in the new industrial park along the interstate highway. Jimmy Williamson, head of Dyersburg Electric System told aldermen, "If we don't have a commercial building for viewing the State of Tennessee will simply write us off. Without it we are not in the hunt."...

Adult bookstore owner, employee plead not guilty

The owner and an employee of an adult bookstore pleaded innocent Tuesday in Dyer County Circuit Court to charges of operating the business without an adult-oriented establishment license. Donald Brewer Sr. and Janie D. The Jackson North Side volleyball team arrived an hour late for its match with Dyersburg on Tuesday. The extra time provided the Lady Trojans an opportunity to build up their intensity level.
