Cemetery director dismissed

The mayor of Dyersburg, Bill Revell, announced Wednesday that the director of city cemeteries, Nelson Butler, had been dismissed and George McCaig, a 20-year veteran in that department appointed to take his place. Lady Trojans get district win over JCM

The DHS Lady Trojans defeated district rival Jackson Central-Merry 6-3 Tuesday night at Dyersburg Middle School. Mary Beth Ozment scored two straight goals to open the game. Choctaws, Trojans see changes in reclassification

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association deadline for moving up in classification was at noon on Tuesday. With only a few schools choosing to make a move, the final classifications for 2005-09 are now set. The new figures have the Dyersburg and Dyer County football programs in Class 3A starting next season. With an enrollment of 923 the Trojans move back down after four years in Class 4A.
