Relay for Life raises $122,500; winners told

The Dyer County Relay for Life generated $122,500 for the American Cancer Society last weekend. That's a little less than the Relay committee's goal of $150,000, but Relay Chairman Kerri Jefferies said there's a chance they could still reach that goal. Man sentenced to 300 days in jail for two DUIs

A Dyersburg man who pleaded guilty to two charges of driving under the influence of an intoxicant last week in Dyer County Circuit Court was sentenced to serve 300 days in jail. Todd O. Warden, 24, of 218 KW Ave., was also sentenced May 30 to serve four years of supervised probation, during which he must get rehabilitation for alcohol abuse, and his driver's license was revoked for five years...

Tommy Gene Eddlemon wasn't expected to survive. He had a broken neck, collarbone and shoulder blade; six flailed ribs; a punctured lung that collapsed; a fractured pelvic bone; and a broken tibia.
