Bond set for man arrested with guns, drugs, cash

The Dyersburg man charged with several felony counts after police on Monday uncovered guns, drugs, $13,000 cash and a stolen car at a Fair Street address was jailed on a $50,000 bond in city court Wednesday. Johnnie Jenkins, 31, of 913 Central Ave., also had his legal name altered on the arrest warrant. There was some confusion over Jenkins' name, as police said even though Jenkins' father shares the name, the man arrested does not have the word "junior" or "II" in his name...

A warrant for attempted murder has been issued for a suspect in a pair of shootings on Sunday that left a man injured in the Milltown neighborhood. Teen stabbed, riot quelled during reputed 'firecracker war'

A stabbing and riot Tuesday night in Dyersburg resulted from battles in a "firecracker war" between so-called "East Side" and "West Side" youths, persons familiar with the events said. At 11:08 p.m., police responded to a fight at the Hart Street and Upper Finley Road area and found a 16-year-old male had been stabbed several times.
