160+ tons of debris already collected for cleanup effort

Officials with the Great American Cleanup report that over 160 tons of debris has already been picked up within the area in conjunction with this year's Keep America Beautiful campaign. Foot almost severed by four-wheeler

A Hornbeak woman is recovering today in a Memphis hospital after nearly severing a foot in a four-wheeler accident on Sunday north of Newbern. According to the Dyer County Sheriff's Department report, deputies were alerted to an accident at about 3:30 p.m. in a field off 3570 Locust Grove Rd., where Georgia Eaves, 36, of 309 Stover Rd. in Hornbeak had suffered an injury. Elderly woman target of ruse

Several hundred dollars was reported stolen from the home of an elderly Milltown woman on Saturday when three men used a ruse to gain access to her purse. According to the Dyersburg Police report, the woman said a blue Dodge pickup truck pulled into her driveway, and a white male with gray hair who appeared to be in his 60s exited the cab and came to her door. Teenager, 15, killed in crash near Halls

A Halls teenager was killed on April 13 on Highway 88 near Highway 51 after she was partially ejected from the vehicle as it skidded into a tree.
