PDC to host history showcase

Next week, Dyersburg's Professional Development Center will open its doors for a multi-state conference advertised as a way to "teach traditional American History with concepts that are anything less than traditional." Local residents are encouraged to join the kindergarten through 12th grade educators from Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee who are expected to attend the "Teaching Traditional American History Showcase." Two women indicted for TennCare fraud

Two Dyersburg women with criminal histories of prescription drug abuse were arrested on TennCare fraud charges in unrelated cases on Tuesday. Connie Marie Hilton, 36, was arrested in Dyer County General Sessions Court on Monday after court, where she was when her husband, Zebediah Rice, appeared after he was arrested for violating his probation for littering. ...

'Ponzi scheme' sentence again delayed

The federal case against former state representative and admitted fraud perpetrator Cecil Ray Davis has again been postponed. The sentencing hearing, rescheduled from an original date in April to June 19, last week was set for Aug. 20.
