Patty Jan Davison, 44, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at her residence. She was a welder and quality-control employee of Heckethorn Manufacturing for 18 years, a member of the Assembly of God and an active member of Chimes for Charity. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Shannon Saliba, the Rev. Danny Leggett and Bro. Bud McPherson officiating. DMS teachers donate to Coats for Kids

Teachers from Dyersburg Middle School donated $200 to the State Gazette for the Coats for Kids program. The teachers paid to wear blue jeans to work for one day, at a cost of $5 per teacher. The teachers decided that the Coats for Kids program is a 'fitting' cause to donate to and presented the money to the State Gazette last week. ...

City assists Briggs and Stratton in time of need, fire officials prepare for investigation

City introduces CodeRED calling system

The City of Dyersburg recently upgraded its communitywide emergency telephone calling system from City Watch to CodeRED. CodeRED calls residents when emergency situations occur within their area. "CodeRED quickly alerts residents and businesses inside Dyersburg City Limits when an emergency is occurring," said Dyersburg Mayor John Holden.
