The outcome of the first contest was decided rather quickly, while the other came down to the final seconds. In the end however, both the DHS Lady Trojan and Trojan squads earned victories to start the New Year. Facing Ripley in a rare Saturday night contest, the Lady Trojans used an intense effort from start to finish to ease their way past the Lady Tigers, 75-35, before the Trojan boys earned perhaps their finest victory of the season in the nightcap, rallying from 11 down in the fourth quarter to win, 51-48, over the Tigers.. ...

Possible cougar track doubted by professional

On Nov. 3, 2008, the State Gazette ran an article on a possible cougar (puma) track that was found by Tom and Mary Perkins, in the Cloverdale area close to Elbridge. A photo of the track was sent to a professional animal identification specialist with the Eastern Puma Wildlife Research Network headquartered in Grant County, West Virginia...
