E-911 board approves budget, discusses storage facility with DFD, elects new officers

The Dyer County E-911 Board met Tuesday afternoon to approve the 2009-2010 fiscal budget, which will begin on July 1. Vice Chairman Tom Reasons conducted the meeting in Chairman Benny Spain's absence. The board's total operating revenue for the upcoming year is expected to be $313,000, with $150,000 from emergency service telephone charges and $163,000 from TECB wireless and operational funding. ...

Dyersburg fireworks show scheduled again for DHS

The city of Dyersburg will host its annual fireworks display at Dyersburg High School again this year. The show will begin a little after 9 p.m., on Saturday, July 4. The show, traditionally held at Dyersburg State Community College, was moved to the parking lot on the DHS campus last year due to fallout on the roofs of several new buildings on the DSCC Dyersburg campus. This year, the show will again be featured on the DHS campus, set off between the baseball and softball fields...
