City board meets new police chief, approves beer permits, bids and attorney's invoice

Mayor John Holden introduced newly-appointed Dyersburg Police Chief Arthur Heun to members of the Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen at Monday's regular meeting. Drop in gas-tax revenue puts highway dept. on tight budget

The Dyer County Highway Department is proceeding cautiously with its plan of work this summer. County Road Superintendent Jeff Jones said proceeds from the gasoline tax have been down $15,000 a month in two of the last three months. Because the highway department derives much of its funding through the gasoline tax, Jones said he expects a "white knuckle ride" this year...
