Dyersburg State Community College's Division of Nursing recently held pinning ceremonies for students in both the traditional nursing program and the Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse Fast Track program. Feed the Need this Friday, volunteers needed

This Friday will be the third "Food Pantry Feed the Need" food distribution at the Dyer County fairgrounds. Over 1,414 families have been vouchered to receive food and organizers are again asking for volunteers to help in its distribution. Volunteers are asked to arrive from 8-8:15 a.m. at the National Guard armory to help unload the food as it arrives...

County facing more costly options for placing juveniles in custody

Dyer County may commit 39 unruly juveniles to state custody without incurring costs. The 40th child, however, could be an expense over which the county has no control. A new state law went into effect last year that limits the number of children each county may place into state custody.
