Local THP trooper makes large cash seizure during traffic stop

Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Grant Montgomery, of Dyersburg, made a traffic stop in Fayette County last week that resulted in the seizure of $96,060, a 1996 Ford F-150 pickup truck, a 2003 Cadillac Escalade and a car dolly. On April 5, two Hispanic males were headed westbound on I-40 in the truck, which was towing the Escalade. Montgomery pulled them over for speeding near mile marker 40. Suspects at large after concurrent robberies

Dyersburg police are investigating two robberies that occurred within 30 minutes apart and are asking the public for assistance. On Monday, April 12, at approximately midnight, police first responded to the 200 block of Greenway Street, where a man reported two black males had robbed him. The victim said that one of the men was armed with a handgun and pulled him from his vehicle where they took an undetermined amount of cash and fled on foot from the area...

Police investigate assault of 27-year-old man

Dyersburg police are investigating an assault that has left a man in serious condition and is being treated at the Med in Memphis. Police were dispatched to the Dyersburg Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 6, at approximately 11:48 p.m., in reference to a man that had been beaten and was unresponsive. The man, a 27-year-old Dyersburg resident was discovered lying in the street on Harton Row, where he was suffering from head trauma and was unresponsive...
