Thomas Allen, 78, of Ridgely, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Corps of Engineers where he served as a construction inspector, was a U.S. Army veteran, worked for the Ridgely Police Department for 17 years and served as 1st lieutenant for the Ridgely Fire Department, was a charter member of Company D 105 3rd Division Combat Engineers where he held the position of sergeant, was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church and was a Scout in Ridgely Troop 36.. ...

Three charged with marijuana possession

The Dyersburg Police Street Crime Unit and members of the West Tennessee Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant on Thursday, Dec. 9, resulting in the seizure of approximately 2 pounds of suspected marijuana. Members of the police department's street crime unit applied for a search warrant on a residence at 1826 Schaffer St., Apt B, where officers seized approximately 2 pounds of suspected marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,500, 18 grams of suspected marijuana seeds and stems, and numerous bags and other paraphernalia believed to be used in the distribution of marijuana.. ...
