At the Shelter
(Features ~ 02/17/11)
We continue to receive pets with collars but no I.D./rabies tags. Please make sure your pet is chipped/tagged. If it escapes from your home or yard and winds up at the shelter, we will call you. If we receive a mixed-breed pet, we hold it for three days (not counting Sunday) so the owner can reclaim it. If no one comes forward, we release it for adoption. If it is a pure-bred, we hold for seven days (not counting Sunday). If you have lost a pet, please visit or call the shelter. We want to reunite fur kids with their rightful human parents. Thank you for all donations, including cot donations. Cheryl Turner and her helpers stay very busy constructing cots for every dog run.

(High School Sports ~ 02/17/11)
MARTIN -- When Dyersburg's Winn Decker fouled out against Crockett County with 10 seconds to play in overtime and the Trojans trailing by one, it appeared his high school career was all but over. However, the Cavaliers kept possession and seemingly only needed to get the ball inbounds to at least get back to the free throw line...
