At the Shelter
(Features ~ 03/10/11)
This week we found a litter of abandoned puppies, barely 6 weeks old, shivering in the rain and cold. Do you wonder why people do such a thing to helpless animals? What about people who move away and leave their pets at the vacant house or apartment? Pets are social creatures and dependent. Whether they are dumped on the side of the road or otherwise, they usually wait in the area hoping their master will come back for them, Meanwhile the abandoned pets usually are either hit by a car or slowly and painfully starve if a compassionate person doesn't feed and water them. If you see an abandoned pet, please bring it to the shelter and we will do our very best to find it a safe, loving home with people who will care for it properly. You are the eyes and ears for the shelter if you see abuse. You are that pet's only hope. Call the shelter or after hours call the police or sheriff's department.
