She was a retired educator and counselor for Lake County School System and a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgely. THP to hold sobriety checkpoints for holiday weekend

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, May 27, on State Route 104 in Dyer County. THP will also be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Monday, May 30, on State Route 210 in Dyer County.

Library receives technology grant

Officials at McIver's Grant Public Library were elated on Wednesday to welcome state and local leaders bearing a check for over $14,000. The library is one of more than 70 libraries across the state chosen to receive a grant to upgrade its technology. County continues review of 2011-12 budget

The Dyer County Budget Committee will continue its meetings on Friday morning to review leftover funds from the 2010-2011 budget year and review the 2011-2012 county budget.
