Football contest winner announced

Richie Spoon, of Halls, was the grand-prize winner of the State Gazette's Pick'em SEC Football Contest. The contest was sponsored by the State Gazette. Spoon had the overall highest score by picking the most winners and closely scoring the tie-breaking games during the 13 weeks of play in the Southeastern Conference's regular season. Spoon took home a 32-inch flat-screen LCD-HDTV as the grand prize from General Appliance and Furniture Company. County sets up new tire-disposal location
