The home of the Gant family, located at 2112 Lake Road, has been chosen as the Dyersburg City Beautiful Commission's April Beauty Spot. A beautiful landscape design, large selection of seasonal plants and the overall neatness and appearance of the property caught the eye of the judges, who noted elegant topiaries with pansies at the entranceway, three varieties of azaleas, hostas, crepe myrtles and ferns as pleasant additions. Main Street Dyersburg receives accreditation

Main Street Dyersburg has been designated as an accredited National Main Street Program for meeting the commercial district-revitalization performance standards set by the National Trust Main Street Center, officials announced Thursday. Each year, the National Trust and its partners announce the list of accredited Main Street programs that have built strong revitalization organizations and demonstrate their ability in using the Main Street Four-Point Approach methodology for strengthening their local economy and protecting their historic buildings.. ...

TBI adds Dyersburg man to Top Ten Most Wanted list for Halls shooting

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added a Dyersburg man to the state's Top Ten Most Wanted list on Friday in an effort to locate him and arrest him for a shooting incident that occurred earlier this month in Halls, Tenn. Michael Antrone Breashears, 25, last known address 331 Fisher, Dyersburg, Tenn., is wanted for two counts of attempted homicide, one count unlawful carry or possession of a weapon, one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and one count of reckless endangerment.. ...

DHS students honored at academic banquet

On Thursday evening, Dyersburg High School gathered together 200 of its brightest students to recognize their academic achievements over the past school year. Teachers and administrators celebrated students that attained a 3.6 GPA or higher at this year's academic banquet as well as honoring the DHS ACT 30+ Club, the Trojan Scholars and the 2012 valedictorian...
