Advance tickets to Wings Over Halls Air Show on sale
(Local News ~ 07/11/12)
It is time for West Tennessee residents to look to the skies and remember the past with the 2012 Wings Over Halls Air Show. Slated for Aug. 18 and 19, the annual event is a West Tennessee tradition and a celebration of Dyersburg Army Air Base, the bustling World War II B-17 training base once located on Arnold Field in Halls. Advanced tickets are now on sale for the event, with a special new promotion this year for sites selling Air Show tickets. 'This year, for the first time ever, the location that sells the most tickets will receive a free ride in the World War II T-6 flown by Dr. Morris Ray of Memphis,' said 2012 Wings Over Halls Coordinator Pat Higdon. 'Second- and third-place winners will receive a free ride on one of the Team RV airplanes. One can also purchase rides on the B-17 and the P-51.' Advanced tickets are $7 each and will be available through Friday, Aug. 10. Regular admission prices on the days of the show will be $15. Here, Mary Ann Allmon, left, receives advance Air Show tickets from Higdon at Williams Jewelers in the Dyersburg Mall. Tickets will also be sold at the Dyersburg branches of First Citizens National Bank and Security Bank. Those interested in more information may call (731) 836-7400.
