Dyersburg Fire Dept. to present Live Burn Demonstration

The Dyersburg Fire Department will present a Live Burn Demonstration on Saturday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. on Pioneer Road in front of Forcum Lannom Materials featuring two furnished buildings of likeness, one with a smoke alarm and one with a smoke alarm and sprinkler system. 'Fire sprinklers not only protect everyone living in the home, it also protects our firefighters'. Dyersburg firefighters will be on hand to demonstrate firefighting techniques versus fire sprinklers. DFD will be promoting fire safety to the entire family, including a show and tell for the children, information to senior citizens, as well as tips for fire safety in the home.

Juveniles charged in theft from local business

Four Dyer County juveniles are in hot water after they were charged by Dyersburg Police in the theft of a four-wheeler and the vandalism of several golf carts at West Tennessee Communications along Highway 51 Bypass. The four white males (three 14-year-olds and one 17-year-old) were brought to the Dyersburg Police Department by their parents and were charged with theft over $1,000 and vandalism over $500. ...
