Food, fun and fellowship for Eyes of Dyer County

The people of Dyer County have once again rallied together to assist those in need of their help. On Thursday, Aug. 30, several patrons gathered together at Lupo's Italian Restaurante in Dyersburg to have a grand time to help raise monies for the Trimble Lion's Club Eyesight Fund. With over $1,000 raised during the evening, at least 10 people will be assisted, be it students and, or adults, in Dyer County to not only improve their vision, but also their lives...

Recycle your electronics through Dyer County Building and Zoning

Dyer County Building Official Daniel Cobb would like to remind residents that all electronic items can be recycled through the Dyer County Building and Zoning Office located at 1910 Pioneer Road. Cobb asks that drop-offs be made at the office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Electronic items are recycled through Creative Recycling in Nashville and the county receives 15 cents for every pound of electronics it recycles.

For 2nd year in a row, DHS senior named National Merit semifinalist

Dyersburg High School has done it again! For the second year in a row, a DHS senior has been recognized as a National Merit Semifinalist in the prestigious organization's scholarship program. Will Clifft, son of Clint and Lisa Clifft of Dyersburg, has been recognized as the 22nd semifinalist in the school's history. Outside of Memphis, Clifft is one of two students west of Nashville to be recognized for the honor in Tennessee. The other student attends University School in Jackson...

FBI recognizes local officers for work in Operation Snow Roots

Local law enforcement officers were recently recognized by the FBI for their part in an operation that has netted 46 suspects on federal charges and dismantled at least six different drug operations. Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box and Dyersburg Police Chief Art Heun were on hand to support their officers that participated "Operation Snow Roots" and thanked the FBI for their continued support in making Dyersburg and Dyer County a safer community...
