DC's Booker set for return to TSSAA state golf tourney

Put a club and several golf balls at the feet of Daniel Booker Jr. and the young man will practice improving his game until darkness falls and he is forced to stop practicing until the following day. Proving practice only makes you better, Dyer County's Booker has secured a spot in the field at the 2012 TSSAA Golf State Tournament for the second straight year. Choctaws edge Panthers, snap 3-game skid 32-20

Dyer County hosted the Bartlett Panthers on Friday evening and prevailed by the final score of 32-20. The Choctaws ran their record to 3-3 while the Panthers dropped their sixth consecutive game to go 0-6 on the season. The Panthers' Tony Jackson ran the opening kickoff down to the Choctaw 19-yard line. From there, the Panthers' Josh Hall scored on the third play from scrimmage. Dyersburg powers past Peabody 48-27 for third straight win

Dyersburg and Peabody entered Friday night's contest both riding 2-game winning streaks. When the game was over, the Trojans walked off the field at J.C. Sawyers stadium with their heads held high, and winners of three straight. Behind a solid second-half defensive performance, as well as another stellar performance running the football by Oshawn Smith, the Trojans improved to 4-1 overall with a convincing 48-27 victory...
