Proclamation signed for Suicide Awareness month

The city of Dyersburg and Professional Care Services collaborated to sign a proclamation declaring September Suicide Awareness month. Suicide is the 10th-leading cause of death in the United States, claiming approximately 30,000 lives each year. Suicide rates among youth, ages 15-24, have increased more than 200 percent in the last 50 years. The Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network is dedicated to educating professionals and community members on this preventable cause of death. More information can be found at www.tspn.org.

Two arrested on Bean Mill Road on meth charges

Two suspects are being held in the Dyer County Jail in connection with numerous items related to the production of meth at a residence on Bean Mill Road. City committee recommends assisting Friendship with sewage needs
