Newbern City Library's Reading Run early registration ends Friday

The Newbern City Library 'Friends of the Library' is accepting registration forms for the second annual Reading Run. The Reading Run will be held on Saturday, March 23, at Dyer County High School. The race is open to children ages 14 and under. The registration fee is $10, which includes a T-shirt and participation ribbon. Early registration ends March 1. Healthy Heart Walk

Students at Dyersburg Intermediate School were encouraged to take steps toward a healthy habit on Friday, Feb. 15. More than 100 DIS students participated in the Healthy Heart Walk, the latest in a series of Walk to School initiatives. Walk organizer and DIS counselor Bart Williams said the students braved a chilly morning to hike to school from various locations in the community.
