Accident sends two to hospital

A motor vehicle accident sent two Dyer County teenagers to the hospital on Friday morning. The accident occurred around 8 a.m. on Friday near Highway 211 and Fort Hudson Road. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old female and her 17-year-old female passenger were in a 2012 mid-size Ford car on Highway 211 headed northeast when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The car hit a concrete culvert and then a tree. Both of the teenagers were reportedly wearing their seat belts, but did sustain non-life-threatening injuries. The driver had to airlifted to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis while the passenger was taken by ambulance to Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
