Northview Middle School replaces heating and air units

It was an impressive scene on Monday morning as a helicopter could be seen maneuvering around the Northview Middle School campus as the school's air conditioning and heating units were replaced after more than 40 years of service. Approximately 50-60 units were replaced on Monday during a one-hour operation overseen by the maintenance staff at Dyer County Schools and Billy Rogers Plumbing, Heating and Air in Dyersburg. Dyer County Director of Schools Dr. Dwight Hedge commented that maintenance is vitally important for the continued success of any school.

Dyersburg Rail Site, Lake County Industrial Site certified by state

The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development recently announced its next 11 Select Tennessee Certified Sites, a distinction that recognizes select industrial parks, sites and other areas as having met international standards by leading site-selection firms Austin Consulting and The Foote Consulting Group. The Dyersburg Rail Site and the Lake County Industrial Site at Port of Cates Landing were named among 11 sites throughout the state in a press release earlier this week...

Several reports of vandalism on east side of town

Dyersburg Police are investigating several cases of vandalism that occurred a few nights ago on the east side of town. According to DPD Asst. Chief Steve Isbell, four vehicles on the east side of town had the windows shot out of them by vandals during the evening hours of Monday and Tuesday. The vehicles were parked on Cherry and Gordon streets, and Troy Avenue. Isbell stated the windows are believed to have been shot out by someone using a pellet gun...
