(Local News ~ 11/01/13)
The Dyersburg Mall was the place to see and be seen as hundreds of costumed children and adults made the rounds to trick-or-treat on All Hallows' Eve. Employees at the stores in the mall got into the Halloween spirit and dressed as their favorite characters and handed out candy. The highlight of the evening was the costume contest, hosted by the Dyersburg Mall and Matthew 25:40. Matthew 25:40 Executive Director Amy McDonald said everyone got a kick out of seeing the children dress up and even some of the parents. "We all had a lot of fun and it was a great turnout," said McDonald. The contest had nearly 150 contestants and raised $157, plus several canned food items for the Matthew 25:40 charity.
