Two people from Jackson, Tenn. were arrested Friday evening after their car hit two law enforcement vehicles working a wreck in Dyer County. The incident occurred on Friday, around 7:20 p.m., at the Forked Deer River bridge crossing on Highway 412. According to Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box, the driver of a pickup truck was traveling on the highway and lost control of the vehicle when it got to the bridge ,which was reportedly covered with ice. ...

Local schools to open Tuesday

Dyersburg City Schools and Dyer County Schools will be open Tuesday, Dec. 10, barring any other inclement weather. School officials say some roads still remain slick and drivers must use their own judgment on these roads. Parents are also reminded to make sure their children's bus has picked them up before leaving. Also, parents should be aware that normal pickup times may vary because bus drivers will be using extreme caution on the routes...
