Dorena-Hickman ferry to remain closed until warmer temps

Due to weather conditions the Dorena-Hickman ferry on the Mississippi River will remain closed until further notice. Capt. Ed Floyd had been closing the ferry on a day-to-day basis since the ferry landings had iced over during recent winter storms. Looking at the forecast, he now says it will likely be several days before the ferry can operate. It is estimated it will take a day or two of above-freezing weather to clear the ice from the landings...

Sheriff pleads his case to open old jail facility
