George Mitchell 'geeks' volunteering. A new campaign promoting the public library has local residents transforming the work 'geek' into a verb. McIver's Grant Public Library's Geek the Library promotion allows residents to discover the interests, passions and pastimes of their neighbors. The initiative also brings awareness on the many roles of the public library. What do you geek? WinShape Camp returns to Dyersburg for second year

Summer is a time for kids to be kids. A time when they can learn new activities, go to summer camp, play sports and have fun with other kids; all time-honored summer traditions. Last year a truly unique summer camp experience that encompassed all those qualities was brought to Dyersburg, courtesy of a partnership between our local Chick-fil-A restaurant and First Baptist Church. ...

Mission Blitz slated for April 26

In 2007, the leaders and congregation at First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg felt a pull on their hearts to do more in their own community. After discussion and prayer, the church began a day of service they called Mission Blitz. For one Saturday, FUMC members would go out and conduct a variety of service projects in areas of need, particularly for local non-profits, schools and in recent years, homes and businesses affected by flooding. ...
