TIPTONVILLE - The last time Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Julius Johnson visited the Port of Cates Landing there was not a lot to see. The port was still in a construction phase and heavy boots were necessary to navigate through the mud. Traffic stop by local trooper leads to 3 arrests

MEMPHIS -- A traffic stop made by a local Tennessee State Trooper assigned to the West Tennessee Drug Task Force (WTDTF) led to the arrest of three men on drug, identity-theft trafficking and forgery charges in Haywood County on Monday night. According to a press release from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, Trooper Grant Montgomery, a member of the West Tennessee Drug Task Force, and Dyersburg resident, was conducting stationary radar on the eastbound side of Interstate 40 near mile marker 43, when he clocked an Isuzu sedan traveling 86 miles per hour in a 70-mph zone on Monday night. ...
