American Red Cross 6th Annual Wine Tasting Event raises $3,000

On Monday, March 31, the American Red Cross Northwest Tennessee Chapter hosted its 6th annual wine-tasting fundraiser at Lupo's Italian Restaurant in Dyersburg. The crowd of 65 guests in attendance filled the banquet room of the restaurant. With wine-tasting, hors d'oeuvres, and a live auction of donated items from local businesses, the American Red Cross Chapter raised $3,000 to further their abilities in servicing the Dyer County area.

County road committee approves budget

The Dyer County Roads Committee met Tuesday to discuss the highway department budget for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. The proposed $5,708,317 budget is about $368,535 less than the current year's budget. "We're not asking for any (more) money," County Road Superintendent Jeff Jones said.
