Mary E. Payne, 83, of Dyersburg, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was born August 28, 1931 to Albert and Kate Fuqua Smith. She retired in 1986 as an LPN and was a member of East Dyersburg Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery conducted by Brother Eddie Faulkner. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements...

UTM to host Igniting Innovation lecture

Apple Annie Days set Friday and Saturday

Evan Thompson son of Marc and Heather Thompson, as the doctor, Brinkley Walker, daughter of York and Julie Walker, as a patient, Armani Carter, daughter of Brandon and Shanitha Carter, as a patient, and Izaiah Glynn, son of Erica Tittle and Glynn Thaddius, as a patient; join McIver's Grant Public Library to help count down the next few days leading up to Apple Annie Days. On Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1 come out and join in on the fun. Apples will be available at First Citizens Downtown, First Citizens Green Village, First South Bank, Joes's Market, Lowes, and Security Bank (in the mall). All donations from Apple Annie Days will go to McIver's Grant Public Library, for the children's summer reading program.

Dyersburg firefighters taking donations to provide new coats for children
