Kenny Christian of Dyersburg, TN died April 1, 2015. He was born Dyersburg, TN to Jack and Genelle Christian. He was carpenter who specialized in remodeling houses and installing vinyl siding. He was an accomplished musician who loved to play his guitar whenever he could get family or close friends together. One of his favorite pastimes was to draw the things that he saw surrounding him -- landscapes, pets, etc...

City gas, water and sewer committee OKs emergency repairs

The City of Dyersburg Gas, Water and Sewer committee met Thursday, April 2 at city hall. All members, consisting of Mayor John Holden, Aldermen Kevin Chaney, Terry Glover, and Robert Taylor Jr. were present. Hotel demolition begins

Demolition crews began this week on the site of the former Best Western hotel on the corner of Hwy. 51 and Lake Road. Work crews removed glass and other large fixtures before the demolition process began. The workers are clearing the site in preparation for the incoming CVS Pharmacy. The hotel was sold in September 2013.

Fire burns abandoned house

An abandoned house, located at 1314 Shelby Drive, Dyersburg, caught fire on Wednesday, April 1. The Dyersburg Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 4 p.m. When the firemen arrived on the scene, heavy fire had already engulfed the front side of the structure. The firemen battled the blaze until approximately 6:20 p.m. According to Fire Chief Tim Ware, the utilities were not connected inside the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Man faces harassment and credit card fraud charges
