Life Choices holds ribbon cutting

On March 31 the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Life Choices Medical Center in Dyersburg in honor of their new office location. Several Chamber diplomats and Life Choices Medical Center staff and board members joined together to cut the ribbon as celebration for the opening of the new office. Chamber Membership Director Hannah Caylor presented the plaque to Life Choices Executive Director Kim Hampton and the rest of the Life Choices staff and board members after the ribbon cutting. Life Choices Medical Center of Dyersburg has been a Chamber member since 2001. Life Choices is a non-profit medical clinic that is dedicated to educating and equipping individuals to make empowered decisions, providing pregnancy confirmation, and offering programs of prevention, intervention, and restoration. They are entirely supported by private donations and grants, which enable them to offer services at no cost. Life Choices is now located across from the Dyersburg Regional Medical Center at 595 East Tickle St. Life Choices is open on Mondays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning from 8 a.m. to noon and in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, text LCappt to 59769 or call (731) 286-HOPE(4673). Highlands gets visit from furry friends

Residents of the Highlands were treated to a visit from some furry friends on Thursday, April 2. Cathy Jones of Dyersburg brought Violet, a Cotswold lamb, and Pepper, a purebred black Martin rabbit, to the assisted-living facility for a little pet therapy. Transitions racing event is Saturday

The 2nd Annual Transitions racing event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, beginning at 8 a.m. This year's race will be composed of a 10K and 5K race with a 1-mile Color Walk. All ages are invited to participate. Dyersburg Mayor John Holden is slated to emcee the event benefiting the women's rehabilitation program.
