Dyer County High School holds band camp

Dyer County High School band camp started on Monday. This year's two-week-long camp has approximately 90 students participating. On Thursday morning, the State Gazette took pictures of the students in action.

Reelfoot animals visit Newbern

Seth Kuykendall from Reelfoot Lake brought the Reelfoot Animals to the Newbern Depot on Wednesday. Children were able to meet Checkers the corn snake, Lucy the screech owl, Shadow the barred owl and Bandit the bald eagle. Approximately 50 children and adults enjoyed learning about the Reelfoot animals.

Dyersburg Christian Center distributes food as planned

On Friday, July 17 the Dyersburg Christian Center and Mid-South Food Bank provided food for those area residents that qualified for this program. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., eligible residents came by the dozens to wait in line for their rations at the Dyersburg Christian Center, 824 Finley St. Blood pressure checks were also available and were administered by Registered Nurse Michelle Boyd...
