Falling limbs bring down three trees at Lenox church

A church is reluctantly having to remove some historic trees from its property because of safety issues. Two of the trees being taken down are ash, but pastor Mark Gooch, of the Lenox Church of God of Prophecy, wasn't sure of the identity of a third tree to be felled in the back of his church. Gooch said, "We know those trees are all at least 100 years old because one of our members, who is 77, remembers them as big trees when she was a little girl."...

Students collect more than 15,500 canned food items

This past Friday, Burks Beverage/Pepsi and Burks Broadcasting staff members picked up items that were collected from nine Dyersburg and Dyer County Schools. Students from each school collected canned goods in November and December for the 9th annual Reason for the Season Food Drive to benefit local organizations such as the Salvation Army, New Life Union Mission, Matthew 25:40, and the Rev.
