Caterpillar donates $15,000 to Safeline

Thanks to a grant from the Caterpillar Foundation, the Northwest Safeline organization was awarded $15,000 for use toward its program in Dyer County. On hand to recognize the event, from left to right were Northwest Safeline Shelter program coordinator and case manager Lori Teague, board member Jane Walker, executive director for Northwest Safeline Lacey Howard, and CAT representatives Rhonda Lee and Steve Bullard. The year 2015 marks the second year that the Caterpillar Foundation has awarded grants to a Dyer County organization.

2nd building comes down, new view of courthouse afforded, bank vault still intact

This is what's left of the two buildings being demolished in downtown Dyersburg as of Friday, Dec. 18. As yet, the adjoining walls and structures remain intact as hoped. The concrete bank vault is still intact and supports the track hoe. Deconstruction and debris removal is expected to continue through the weekend.
