Historical Society museum open Saturday with big plans for 2016

President Danny Walden presented many new ideas and promotions that society board members had proposed for the new year. Health Council discusses current and upcoming projects

City finance committee OKs outsourcing golf course

Over the last 35 years, the Dyersburg Municipal Golf Course has been an expensive enterprise for the city budget. According to records submitted at the Wednesday, Jan. 13 meeting of the Dyersburg Finance Committee, the cumulative net loss surpassed the $1 million mark in 2014, and in 2015 that cumulative loss totaled $1,184,690.94. The last year the golf course actually showed a profit was 2002, but every year afterward annual losses have ranged from $16,510 (2008) to a high of $270,161 (2013).
