Peggy J. Darnell (formerly Anderson, Tweedy, Miller), 88, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died January 13, 2016 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born in Halls Tennessee on Sept. 3rd, 1927 and lived in Dyersburg for 53 years before moving to Texas in 2010. Air show volunteers gather

Seventy-two Air Show 2015 dedicated volunteers met Friday, Jan. 15, for an Appreciation Dinner at the Veterans' Museum Headquarters Building. During dinner, guests were able to see videos of Air Shows past. The event recognized 15 years of Air Shows and also featured scrapbooks of Air Shows 1993-2000. Pat Higdon, coordinator through 2015, asked for help in organizing materials and displaying them in scrapbooks for the last five years...

Dyer County's Fairest of Fair vies for state crown

This Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22-23, the Tennessee State Fair Association will be holding its annual convention and crowning for Tennessee's statewide "Fairest of the Fair" contest winners. Representing Dyer County, Kelsea Tomczak, winner of the Dyer county competition, will compete against 50 contestants from all over the state.

State officials shut down local restaurant
