Frances N. Bailey, 87, of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional. She was the retired owner of the Dairy Dreme. Ms. Frances was a Methodist. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Stutts officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery...

Lady Choctaws to host Overton in substate action

In what could be the biggest game in the Dyer County girls program's history on Saturday night, the Lady Choctaws look to keep their run through the postseason going and make history in the process as the orange and white girls look to reach the TSSAA Basketball State Tournament for the first time in school history when they host Memphis Overton on Saturday night at Dyer County High School.

Group attends AT&T reception

A group of local business and government officials attended this year's annual AT&T reception in Nashville. Each year AT&T hosts legislators and local leaders at their facility in Nashville to showcase the overall economic impact the telecommunication industry has on Tennessee. Pictured are (l-r) Rep. Dyer County Farm Bureau holds ribbon cutting

The Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce had the honor of hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the open house and grand opening of Dyer County Farm Bureau's new office building. Board President Tommy Rice and Agency Manager Kent Morris along with fellow agents, board members, and staff of Dyer County Farm Bureau welcomed their guests. They were joined in attendance by Chamber President and CEO Allen Hester, Mayor Young, Mayor Holden, Chamber diplomats and several other community supporters and leaders for the ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Morris introduced several important people that played a key role in accomplishing their goal of building a new office and he thanked everyone for their support and help throughout the process. Dyer County Farm Bureau's new office is located at 419 Highway 51 Bypass W across from Dyersburg Funeral Home.
