DMS students' TIP Program ACT results announced

The results are in for a select group of seventh-grade students at Dyersburg Middle School who were chosen by the Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) to take the ACT. Students were selected based upon their display of strong intellectual abilities and because they achieved a qualifying score at or above the 95th percentile on a recent grade-level test.

Dyersburg's Simmons to attend Naval Academy

As the week began, Wednesday morning was supposed to see Dyersburg High School track standout and defending Class AA state long jump champion Banita Simmons sign to continue her track career at the Citadel in South Carolina. However, a call on Tuesday changed those plans as the Lady Trojan senior was accepted into the United States Naval Academy where she will continue her track career next season.

Eagles look to soar in weekend series with Vol State

Former U.S. Attorney Kustoff seeks to secure vacant 8th District seat

David Kustoff was born and raised in Shelby County and is a graduate of the University of Memphis. He was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee by President Bush in 2006, and set his sights on cleaning up government and public corruption, and fighting violent crime and drugs.
