A three-run fourth inning by the Devilettes along with a Dyersburg slump at the plate with runners in scoring position was a mix dangerous enough for South Fulton to end the Lady Trojans home winning streak this season at 10 games, as the Devilettes handed Dyersburg a 6-4 loss on Thursday night.

Choctaws fend off late rally by Kennett for win

A five-run lead entering the top of the seventh was almost not enough for the Choctaws, but after entering with two outs in the frame and giving up a run, Three Rivers signee W.P. Stallings was able to close the door on Kennett to secure Dyer County's 5-4 win over the Indians on Friday afternoon in Newbern.

WAT wraps up event with awards ceremony

This year's Walk Across Tennessee (WAT) program ended in huge triumph, as teams were able to collectively log an outstanding total of 96,492 miles. With 855 participants, each individual walked an average of 2.6 miles every week of the six-week-long fitness campaign, an improvement of .3 miles over last year.

Mission Blitz organizers gather to discuss plans for community-wide events

With a vision of bringing together churches in the Northwest Tennessee, Mission Blitz volunteers, organizers, and participating churches are now gearing up for the event's ninth annual celebration. The kickoff for events will be Saturday, May 7. During that day, residents are invited to attend the many events that will be held simultaneously throughout various locations, within the Dyer County community.

State Labor Dept. names Webb West Tenn. Regional Employee of Year

Cynthia Webb, director of administration and fiscal services at Northwest Tennessee Workforce Board, earned recognition as the state's 2015 Western Region Workforce Services Employee of the Year by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). This annual award publicly acknowledged Webb for her outstanding service to customers, exhibiting a positive attitude, initiative, exceptional work ethic, her positive relationship with both internal and external customers, and her ability to relate to the mission of the TDLWD.
