William Asa "Bill" Dean Jr., age 91, of Dyersburg, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Dean was the retired owner of Dean's Radio & TV Sales & Service. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army and retired as a Captain in the National Guard. Later he became an amateur HAM Radio Operator. Bartlett bats dominate Dyer County in I-40 Tournament finale

The Choctaws wrapped up their stay in the I-40 Tournament on Monday, falling to Bartlett on the road as the Panthers tagged Dyer County pitching for 10 runs on 14 hits during the 10-2 loss at Bartlett. Southwest TN signs Choctaw seniors Ethan Stallings and Chase Jones

With this season winding down and heading into the postseason, two more Choctaw baseball players know where their baseball careers will continue after their high school run is over this month as seniors Ethan Stallings and Chase Jones signed to play with Southwest TN Community College next season on Tuesday morning.

Seven DHS students selected to attend Governor's School this summer

Seven students from Dyersburg High School were selected to attend six different Governor's Schools this summer after committees, appointed by the director in consultation with the state Department of Education, reviewed applications, transcripts, personal data sheets, and recommendations made by high school counselors or principals. Public Safety Committee requests city to appeal E-911 Board decision

The Dyersburg City Board of Mayor and Aldermen met at 7p.m. on Monday, May 2 in the Municipal Courtroom to discuss various items on the agenda including the Dyer County Promise Scholarship program, bids, and a request from the Public Safety Committee to appeal the E-911 Board's recent denial of funding.
