Five local high school basketball players as well as coaches from Dyersburg and Dyer County have been selected to take part in the annual West Tennessee All-Star Ridgecrest Hoops Classic on May 28.

Four-goal half puts Trojans in region title game

With the wind at their backs to open the game, the Trojans made the most of momentum in the first half, jumping out to a four-goal lead after a second straight hat trick from DHS senior Bryce Gilmore in the opening 40 minutes of action during the Region 7 A-AA semifinals on Tuesday night at Dyersburg High School then held on for a 4-2 win after a pair of Eagle goals in the second half.

DSCC hosts retirement reception for Floyd Speck

Dyersburg State Community College Jazz Choir Director Floyd Speck was recently honored with a retirement reception for 11 years of dedicated service to the college. The reception was held at the DSCC Student Center on the Dyersburg campus April 19. Speck earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Music degree in Music Theory from the University of Kentucky. ...
