Erskine P. Ausbrooks III, Ph.D., "Tracy", of Dyersburg, passed away on July 10, 2016, at the age of 65. He is survived by his father, Erskine P. Ausbrooks, Jr., brothers, Jon Russell Ausbrooks and Daniel Perry Ausbrooks, all of Hendersonville. In addition, he is survived by many Ausbrooks and Russell cousins and a multitude of friends, his chosen family, of which there are way too many to name...

DSCC honors the late Erskine P. Ausbrooks III with memorial scholarship fund

"I know that you share with me the sadness of losing such a valued colleague and friend," shared DSCC President Dr. Karen Bowyer while informing colleagues and friends of the recent passing of Dr. Erskine P. Ausbrooks III. Ausbrooks earned his Ph. D. in psychology in 1993 from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. His was a counselor with Talent Search at UTK from 1983 until '88 and counselor and instructor at Pellissippi State Community College from 1988 until he left Knoxville to move to his new position in Dyersburg in January 1996. He was employed at DSCC on Feb. 1, 1996, as coordinator of freshman orientation with the Title III project. During this time, he worked with Dr. Buck Tarpley and Dr. Jamie Frakes. As his work with Title III ended, on Sept. 30, 1997, Ausbrooks was appointed as assistant professor of psychology on Oct. 1, 1997. Through the years he earned a promotion to associate professor of psychology and was granted tenure in 2002 by the Tennessee Board of Regents. In 2007, his good work resulted in a promotion to full professor of psychology.

Young boy extends kindness to Newbern Police Department

Attracting the attention of individuals of all ages, the game app has already been downloaded from the Google Play Store to the phones and tablets of 10,000,000 individuals across the globe, and shot up to the top of both the free and grossing app charts in the Apple Store shortly after its release.
