Ford Construction, 'Paving the roads of tomorrow'
(Local News ~ 07/21/16)
Ford Construction crews have been spotted working on roads in neighborhoods scattered throughout Dyersburg. Those traveling through these areas may experience a bit of a delay due to the heavy presence of construction crews during the paving process. According to Ford Construction GM of Paving Operations Calvin Lambert, the paving of Parr Avenue, Vendall Road, and Millsfield Highway, from 155 to the county line, was funded through a state grant received by the city of Dyersburg earlier this year. Along with roads being paved from the receipt of grant funding, Lambert also stated that Ford Construction is working on 10-12 more streets in the area, which were awarded to the company last fall in a $1 million contract including Parkview Street, Kist Avenue, Troy Avenue (ext.), and Volunteer Boulevard, to name a few. The paving of Parr Avenue, Volunteer Boulevard, and Troy Avenue (ext.) were all completed late Thursday evening, and Lambert expects that Parkview Street will also be done by late this evening.
